L’Oréal Professionel Smartbond is a two-part, in-salon treatment that protects and strengthens hair during the colouring and/or lightening process, and is touted to brighten and soften dyed hair over time.

Smartbond really helps me achieve any colour correction without drying or damaging the hair in any way, shape, or form. Smartbond can also be added to gloss to condition the hair. A lot of the time, you have all these other products that you mix with your bleach or glosses, and they move the colour sometimes. Smartbond doesn’t move the colour at all.

Colouring the hair weakens it due to from oxidation. Bonds in the hair can’t reform because the ions have been damaged. Smart Bond addresses these issues by targeting the weaker parts of the hair bond to strengthen and limit stress to keep the bond intact.
It also assists in improving the overall finish of your hair colour as this will take more evenly.

Why do I need colour bonding?
Over-processed hair can be left feeling dry and damaged, and some people even report their hair breaking after having lightener applied. Colour bonding treatments help to protect each strand of hair during the lightening process.
Will colour bonding affect how my colour looks?
A bond multiplier will have no negative effect on how your colour turns out. In fact, you’re likely to find that your colour looks much better and more even as your hair will be in better condition.
Will my service take longer if I have the colour bonding treatment?
The first part of the Smartbond treatment is mixed in with your lightener or hair colour, meaning there is no additional application time. The second part of the treatment takes just ten minutes to work its magic, and so is the same as having a deep conditioning treatment applied to your hair after colouring.
